 How do we use your donation?
DMPulse pays music royalties for the songs we play on the station. This year, thanks to your help, we paid $2,000 to artists and songwriters. In addition, it costs around $100 per month to operate the station. Again, thanks to donations from listeners like you, we have been commercial-free for 16 months and our audience has tripled since last October! Please support great artists and music, without advertising or subscriptions, by donating to DMPulse during our Fall Fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $2,500 to cover the cost of music royalties in 2013. Dollars above the $2,500 goal will be used to cover ongoing monthly expenses in 2013. And, as a 501(c)3 non-profit, donations are tax-deductible for listeners in the United States!

Introducing the DMPulse Music Meeting

Before corporate radio programmers took control of local radio station playlists, there was a time each week when the DJs at a radio station would have a music meeting to determine what new songs would be "added" to the playlist. The vote was democratic, with the program director having the final say on what gets played. DMPulse is bringing this back with the help of a select group of DMPulse listeners!  

Introducing, the DMPulse Music Meeting!

Each week, eligible listeners will access a listening blog where they can hear five new songs being considered for airplay on DMPulse. Listeners vote right on the blog, and share their opinions on these tracks. Are they worthy of being played alongside the best new indie and alternative music? DMPulse listeners each have a vote.

How to Listen to DMPulse with iTunes

Playing DMPulse through iTunes is easy, and opens the door to listen on speakers with Airport Express or other speakers connected to your home Wi-Fi network.

First,open iTunes and look for the "Advanced" menu along the top. In Advanced, the first option is Open Audio Stream...

Select that and cut & paste this URL in the URL window:
http://sc1.phx.icastcenter.com/proxy.php?stream=dmpm&audio=1

It should automatically load and begin playing. You'll see the name on the song playing in the upper center. Also, "DMPulse" should automatically be added to your music library.

Pandora's Choking on Advertising. And It's Getting Worse...

Listeners will have to choose to either be the product for sale and sit through invasive advertising or support commercial-free stations with donations. Which will DMPulse listeners choose?

We believe listeners will financially-support internet radio if the station is open and transparent about its costs, and laser-focused on delivering great music.  Wall Street runs Pandora now, and the results are more advertising.  This article highlights the problems Pandora is experiencing.  They are trying to serve two masters: audience and advertisers.  In that battle, advertisers ALWAYS win and the audience loses.

Not so on DMPulse!  As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, D.M. Pulse Media's mission is simply to expose our audience to great new artists on a station free of commercial advertising.  And we only have to pay our bills, not meet the expectations of Wall Street.  Give DMPulse a listen, and hear the future of internet radio--listener supported!

Like everyone, we have bills to pay to make it happen. We know you don't listen to DMPulse for the fundraising announcements! But, we aren't afraid to be honest with you about our financial needs to continue to bring you great music. We hold fundraising campaigns in the spring and fall, and today, we launch our Spring Fundraising Campaign.

Our goal is to raise $1,800 in the next few weeks, helping us pay our streaming costs and software licenses for the rest of 2012. Whether you are a new listener, or have been listening for years, we need your support during our Fundraising Campaign.

Eight months ago, DMPulse embarked on a new adventure. Our goal was to make DMPulse an entirely listener-supported internet radio station.
