New DMPulse survey
Click Here to take the survey
Thanks to all who filled out the first Future of DMPulse survey. Based on your feedback, it is obvious you want DMPulse to continue to be an internet radio station in some form in 2010.
With that in mind, I have been working to pull together ideas on how to keep the station going. And I need your help. Would you take a moment to go to fill out the second survey.
The survey will ask you to share your thoughts about the station, and provide feedback on a few ideas on services I can provide that can help us continue going forward. Many have offered ideas that would improve your experience and generate revenue for the station. Please keep those ideas coming.
Thanks to everyone for helping us along the way. And please take a moment to fill out our new survey.
The survey is 9 questions, and should only take a couple of minutes to complete! Go here to take survey

First survey results
The results from the first survey about the future of DMPulse are in. Check out the full details below...to summarize:
-Listeners want a radio station and not something else, like a twitter feed or podcast.
-60% of listeners would be willing to pay a subscription. 40% would not.
My takeaway is you want a radio station, so we need to find a way to be able to generate enough revenue to continue to do so. Doing a station outside of Live365 is probably too costly right now, but there may be ways to start building towards that goal. Look for another survey soon, taking a look at more specific ideas on generating revenue around this station. Thanks to all that participated in the 1st survey!
Jay

The future of DMPulse?
Thanks for visiting the the DMPulse website! As 2010 approaches, I need help deciding what DMPulse will become in the new year. If we are going to stay an internet radio station, we will have to look at other business models. Perhaps I can help you discover great new music another way, like through a blog, twitter feed or other social media. Whatever the new year brings, I'd like you to have a say in it.
The survey is 10 questions, and should only take a couple of minutes to complete! Go here:

What's next?
DMPulse will stay on the air though the end of the year, but what's next? Net radio may not be sustainable, so what are your ideas? How can we keep discovering new music together? A blog, twitter @hipnewmusic, a podcast?
Friday, October 23, 2009
Goodbye to Net Radio...for now!
DMPulse will be ceasing operation on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009.
As I said on the air today, this isn't "goodbye" so much as it is a "see you later".
Thanks to all who have sent such nice notes to me in the last week. I appreciate them!
While I will be stepping away from internet radio, I'll still do my best to introduce great new music to anyone who will listen. Keep an eye on the twitter feed for sure. Join others that liked DMPulse at the fan page one of our long-time listeners put up. Bookmark this page or sign up for notifications. Maybe I'll utilize this page down the road too.
If you'd like to stay in touch, here's a few ways to do it:

Thanks again and see you down the road!
