The big news of the day is Jack and Meg putting an end to the White Stripes with an announcement on their website.  Pitchfork has the details, along with several great videos. Here's my favorite White Stripes track!

Jack White from White Stripes and Raconteurs fame has joined up with members of The Kills, Queens of the Stone Age and The Raconteurs to form The Dead Weather. He'll sit behind the drum kit for the new group.
